Here is a short video clip where you can see my humble room and understand why I have my own room because few women would put up with this sort of gear in a space they shared. All things considered, this clip came out ok I think. It was shot with a Sony Cyber-shot 7.2 megapixel camera. When you think about the fact that you are hearing a clip of my system that has been converted to digital via the microphone in the camera, I think the sound quality is better than what you would expect for this recording chain.

The camera is being held by yours truly and at the beginning, you can see my size 13 hoofers hanging off the ottoman which I didn't mean to capture. Playback chain being recorded is my Otari MX-55 through a pair of Ampex 350s into my Krell KBL to my ARC VS115 and out through my Def Tech BP7000SC speakers and the matching pair of subs.

Maybe, just maybe you can get an idea of what my room/gear sounds like.

That tape richness manages to come through the microphone/youtube chain, very nice.

Now where's the video of your wife chasing you around with a rolling pin?

Thanks Carl. Frankly I'm amazed at the quality that was preserved through the little Sony camera. I think you just might get a feeling for how powerful the recording is and the sensation that Sonny is standing in the room blowing the walls down.

As for the rolling pin, we have one of those super-heavy marble rolling pins, but it's on top of the refrigerator and my wife can't reach it. I have to get it for her. The great thing about my room is that it is sound isolated from the main part of the house and it doesn't matter how loud the system is, my wife can't hear it and complain. And that is priceless.

Cool...!

Your hoofers are bigger than your woofers :D

Nice one Mark :)

Thanks for the kind comments. Lee, I'm glad you are enjoying the "Sounds of Sonny" SACD. Jack, Hoofers are size 13 and the woofers are 14".

:D

I enjoyed that! Lovely, lovely room and gear!:D
