Who has direct experience comparing an amplifier using an 833 tube versus an amplifier using the similar TB-3/1000 tube?

@Ron Resnick did you had any chance to figure it out?
im looking at the silvercore 833 also and wondering about that question myself.

i be also grateful if someone has any feedbacks on Silvercore amps in general.
thank you

Nope. I think the input tube and the driver tube and the transformer are important components of the sound coming out of the amplifier.

I think that generalizations about the sound of the output tube in isolation do not make much sense.

I have heard both of these. His 833c many times

and?
this is not you to not elaborate on your listening experience ;)

Not sure what you are comparing against or what you want to drive. Unless you only want to buy silvercore, just comparing those tubes or amps does not make sense.

His 833 is a good value amp at 20w if you are on a budget in the used market. There are many SET applications, you can get better 300b or 2a3 and other stuff at lower watts, you can get more if required in more powerful amps, but most of them are more expensive such as Kronzilla. lamm, Kondo. No shortage of amps. I prefer a locally made GM70 to Silvercore’s 833, and it’s not expensive. There are also SETs made in Vietnam and Japan. Silvercore himself has made a 212 and an Eimac 304TL (80w class A) which was better

And then comparing against the 120w 833
