Gentlemen, there is very little mentioned about upgrade of Pacific to v2.
Would you be kind enough to share more comments regarding upgrade? What are the key changes? (Some of you mention more resolution and better bass). More resolution doesn’t create less musicality and more sterile sound...
Quite many of new production rectifiers are also pretty decent.
My recent discovery is EML 5U4GM - truly magical. For me no. 1 in my Pacific at the moment.
My previous attempts with NOS rectis were not too promising. But in all fairness I haven’t tried any of the uber expensive NOS tubes. My...
Many thanks for your recommendation. Indeed, I probably need to try Wavac PR-T1. I can see it is out of production and super difficult to get in the 2nd hand market, but will keep an eye on it :)
In the meantime I will check what Lukasz is cooking at Lampizator. If I understand correctly...
Will there be ever version of XDMS/NSM that could ne installed on a "regular/diy" PC rather than on Taiko Extreme Server?
Would be interesting to understand/compare how much is contributed by hardware and how much is by software.
From what I have tried in Lampi, you might want to consider something like Linlai 274B-D Titanium or Svetlana 5U4G black plate, both very good but still cheap options. A bit more expensive will be Psvane - either WE274B replica or ACME 274B. The last two are in the same price range as Sophia...
Pacific - KR242 then T100 then EML AD1/N. On Horizon, I don't remember now to be honest. There are aspects where Horizon is better but overall Pacific still wins for me (and a colleague of mine who has similar setup i.e. Pacific+Wavac MD805m monos).
I have rather simple speakers i.e. Usher...
I have solemnly promised myself to stop with subsequent upgrades
Have tried Horizon twice but still prefer my Pacific.
High end preamp would be a very expensive venture.
For whatever reason there is a huge synergy (input impedance?) between Pacific and Wavac MD805s.
In my case Pacific (KR242) with volume control directly into Wavac 805m monos is shockingly good setup.
Cannot imagine it can get any better with preamp in-between. But maybe I should give it a try with some uber top preamp...
KR 242 are not working well with most of solid state amps/monoblocks. However quite often these work extremely well with tube amps.
In my case synergy between Lampi Pacific and Wavac MD805m mono is simply fabulous.
By the way if anyone is interested I have almost brand new pair of KR 242 RK to...
I have KR 242, KR 242 RK, EML AD1. My favorite by far is regular KR 242.
Rectifiers (too many): Psvane ACME 274B, Psvane WE274B replica, KR 274B, KR 5U4GRK, EML 5U4GM, Svetlana Black Plate, Brimar, 5C3S (Russian), Linlai Elite 274B. Out of the entire pack my favorites are: EML 5U4GM, and ACME.
Interesting...
I am currently evaluating other options than Lampi for phono in my rig.
Will report more in couple of days.
My initial thought on VP4 was similar to yours, it sounded to me very transformational...
Interesting...
So what you say is that many top brands are about (or in the process already) to kick-off very expensive phonos?
You might be actually right, when I think about how little of components is required for a decent phono, end-user prices are somewhat scarry...
At the same time when I...
I am not a super big vinyl fan. At the moment I am using Muarah MU2. My vinyl rig is simple: Transrotor ZET1 + Hana ML cartridge. The rest of my setup is Pacific, Wavac MD805 monos and Usher Dancer DMD-10.
However adding VP4 Silver transformed my vinyl rig completely.
Main differences: the...
You are probably very right, but since I have returned VP4 Silver last evening, I think all the time how the hell do I get it back Into my vinyl rig ???
It is not an insignificant amount for phono pre…and at the same time:
It is simply amazing how good it is….
Actually I was privileged to have VP4 Silver at home over the last weekend.
The only thing I can say is that VP4 Silver is a pure magic. I was simply not aware this level of performance is possible.
Lukasz and his team created something truly extraordinary. If you have a chance - give it a try...
My understanding (I am not speaking here on behalf of Lampi) is that c.a. 25-30 pairs were received in the first batch and all pairs have been distributed. More will be coming soon.
I would assume so. As written earlier in this thread - please approach Lampi HQ directly.
The mass order was redirected so that it is entirely handled via Lampi. I am just a happy customer of Lampi and that is all.
Now I feel guilty for already receiving a pair (that must be due to proximity of my home to Lampi HQ).
Let's hope next batch will cover all those that requested to get it.
Again - I think really good news is that it is in production again.
