Hi Folks,
those who are ordering the 3.2SE, which I am also very interested in, what is the lead time given by Abbas ? In my recent communication, he was very reluctant to provide me with a date, not even an approximate one. He only said it will take months which is a bit vague, though he said...
Interesting question. I am curious what other Baltic3 owners do ? My B3 only has a power on/off at the IEC and wanting to save tube life, I always turn off the unit after listening. I do not see any standby kind of function like all other DACs where the clocks and critical parts are always kept...
not everyone has an Extreme and Emile beside them and many are still on yearly subscription. The point is, for them its a wild goose chase if the SQ and other issues randomly crops up in every release. I have been a Roon user couple of yrs now and still think Roon is the best library management...
I am starting to think not only SQ but they don't know what they are doing with UI as well ;)
Here is a screenshot of what I am saying...note how it says "0 of 2593 albums". My screen is just as blank as those Roon developers are
Yes, more cpu processing demands will likely change the sound signature a bit depending on what cpu you are running. The lower the power, the more the effect will be. I don't think Roon is deaf - they have the right potential to make it a true first class audiophile music playback software, its...
Without Roon acknowledging what to optimize, its a needle in the haystack. Roon says that Intel i3 is fine with a medium sized library - an i3 probably just runs fine but it does not sounds better than any high power cpu, like an i9, which many DIY users has found it to be the case. Roon doesn't...
Not a direct reply to your question but I own the Sablon 2020 and the NA Eno USB (latest version) sounds better than the Sablon in all respect. There is a thread over at Agon where you might find more info and comparisons on NA products. I might be inclined to try the Muon usb.
one question for Ted (or someone if they know the answer) - if the IEC has a fuse and its upgraded to, say SR Purple, does the CTD on the IEC becomes redundant ?
I also started with a purple pair on the interconnect but didn't have the gold on the speaker. it made the sound more detailed and little unnatural. Then I replaced the purple with a gold pair on the same spot and liked what I heard. I then tried the unused purple pair on the speaker cable but...
I had a good improvement placing a purple disc on the top of the iec inlet of my power conditioner. my two golds has gone on the interconnect permanently and hence I don't know how the gold performs on the iec. Ordered a 2nd pair which might be be coming this week. Since these can have quiet a...
thanks @Golum
Looks like I am not imagining. I bought the Sophia based on some thread here where they liked it in their Lampi DAC. It’s a bit surprising that Sophia would make something like this as they are generally very good with their tubes. Not sure if I got a bad one and I have no way to...
Anybody has experience with the Sophia Electric Aqua 274B B3 ? I bought one couple of days back and it has around 200hrs on it but the sound is very uninteresting, flat, harsh and thin. Did I get a bad one ? Need more time to break-in ?
Nicely described Ozzy.
Anything you place or change in your system will change the sound, however small it is. The only difference here is that these disc are changing things in a natural way but not at all places. For example, I tried experimenting placing the purple at several places - power...
Ozzy, I use the Fidelium speaker cable which is two separate ribbon cables for +ive and neutral, so I cannot use it like SR suggests. I tried on the +ive side only but did not discern any difference.
I initially placed the Purple on the WBT connector of the interconnect between the DAC and Int Amp as shown in the SR's guide and mostly heard no change, maybe slightly or it could be placebo. Moved it to the cotton jacket of the interconnect and heard a noticeable change. Looks like the...
WW 8 series cables has been excellent performer. They took a long time releasing the USB 8 series cable. I had the earlier version Platinum 7 a while back. Please report back your impression. Fyi, WW cables takes a long time to break-in.
Between, what DAC and music server/streamer will you be...
