Sound Quality of new roon versions (builds)

I heard the Innuos Statement using their in house software at Munich a month ago, and can see why you like the sound. Sound quality is so dependant on a precise details of the marriage of hardware and playback software, that you are right to say YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary). Some mileage here...

Sound Quality of new roon versions (builds)

I am using an unusual platform which made the uptick very apparent the moment it went in, I had wondered if build 1277 would slip by un-noticed. Just how I would describe it too. I would also call out improvement in the pitch and weight accuracy of deep bass as well. ~Very nice DAC by the...

Sound Quality of new roon versions (builds)

Roon did a push version upgrade on Roon Server to version 1277 this afternoon. As it happened is was half way through a component development session, so some focused listening was happening as the upgrade came in. Roon 1277 gave a decent uptick in SQ here. Anyone else notice this ?

Network Improvements and their Impact on Sound Quality

Yes, I like looking up speakers as well, often the most attractive part of a system, your Kubalas look a very nice design. The Orelos are three way active. The mid / highs are via the concentric Mid / Hi horn and Bass by the 15" horn loaded drivers. Bass cross over uses a DSP that extends the...

Network Improvements and their Impact on Sound Quality

Thank you for the welcome, Ah, I missed Romazs' post #163, it's very interesting. In particular Romazs' para below sumarises thinking in the areas I raised questions. It lines up well with my personal experience of trialing a couple of lan switches. They appear to provide some isolation but...

Network Improvements and their Impact on Sound Quality

Hi, I am familiar with the impact that network software and hardware configurations, (on connected music servers and audio end point devices), can have on sound quality. So I do whole heartedly buy into the theme of the thread. There are a lot of people here getting significant sound quality...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Eurodriver, thank you for your reply. There are some very interesting points and I must say the Extreme looks a beautifully designed and constructed server. We are on the same page but in addition to CPU processing benifits I think its also worth concidering that on later X and C series Intel...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

This is a fascinating thread. I have read most (but not all) of the thread and have the impression the SGM Extreme does not use a replacement precision clock on its motherboard (eg an OCXO or other type). This would seem quite unusual for an statement level PC server. Can anyone clarify if...
