Hi Mike, What do you mean by "sampling them from my files in Roon"? Are you suggesting that Roon can be used with TAS? Geoff

    Sablon power cords

I recently purchased 2 Prince power cords after glowing endorsements by many respected members here; one for my Extreme and the other for my Chord DAVE. I was previously using HFC CT-1 Ultimate Reference for the DAVE and an Allnic ZL-5000 for the Extreme both via a Sound Applications TT-7 PGI...

    Sablon power cords

Hi Mark, What would you estimate the relative benefit to be with powercord from wall to power conditioner/distributor vs. the latter to the device being powered eg. Server/DAC. I guess logic would suggest Sablon King's throughout would be best but if the conditioner has other components...

Network Improvements and their Impact on Sound Quality

Thanks Blue58. I might be wrong but I don't think the StarTech FMC is an "audiophile" device in the sense that the clock is of ordinary quality. I don't know the rest of your network configuration but further benefit may be achieved with something like the Sonore opticalModule especially if you...

Thanks Emile. I'm always keen to learn from expert listeners on what they listen for when making changes to one's system so please can you share some of the tracks you tested with some notes when you get a chance. Cheers, Geoff ps. my Extreme also updated in seconds but I have only 1TB of my...

Network Improvements and their Impact on Sound Quality

Hi kswanson27. I'm no expert and I don't have the audiophile switches you mentioned. I do have the EdgeRouterX-SFP which I use as a router to replace my ISP Wifi Router. I think Nenon said best regarding the EdgeRouter back in post #245 on this thread. G

Hi Emile. Will TAS have the capacity to load a convolution filter for DSP? Can you please clarify if the previous discussion regarding JPlay is for Beta TAS or Roon playback. G

The best simplest mains to subwoofer integration?

Hi sbo6, Thanks for sharing your experiment. Can you show me, perhaps in a photo, how you implemented the high pass filter at 80Hz with a cap. Is the value of the cap universal between systems? I always thought there is a 90? phase shift with a 1st order cap. Not sure if it's audible but it...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

I suppose that means sound quality is much more than the number of execution threads (ET) and memory used. If I understand correctly currently it is 120 ET and 1.5Gb when previously it was 20 ET but it sounds much better now. G

Network Improvements and their Impact on Sound Quality

Hi Rob, I appreciate the problem with the changing baseline.:p Would it be convenient enough to just connect Extreme to the Waversa W Router directly; bypassing the two M12's to see if there's a profound drop-off in SQ? I think the two M12's made a huge improvement in your previous setup...

Network Improvements and their Impact on Sound Quality

Hi Bob, Can you comment on the impact of your "mega switch combo" on the recent Taiko Extreme ethernet/ROON tweak. I'm just wondering if the impact is as great as before with local playback and streaming and if the difference is greater with streaming. Thanks G

Network Improvements and their Impact on Sound Quality

I don't know about the Cisco switch but certainly with the EdgerouterX I needed to go into the web browser and turn on the SFP manually. Unfortunately, the flashing lights were not an indication of a functioning port, at least for the EdgerouterX, as they were flashing like the other active...

Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Well, my update has just been completed. I am a relatively new Extreme owner so never had the opportunity to listen to earlier versions of Roon. I think I started on the previous version (555) and am now on 571. I switched from a low powered NUC running Euphony Stylus. I must say I was not...
