I decided to try out a J.A. MICHELL record clamp. It came with a small felt ring that goes under the record. I was really surprised about how well it worked. It lowered the noise floor, improved clarity and sharped the images. I am really pleased with it. The strange thing though was on a 3 or 4...
Beyond it's intended purpose I'm not a 1200 fan neither. For me within it's limits and understanding it's not a audiophile table I think it can be pretty pleasing. Just my opinion.
This has been a great thread, I really enjoyed everybody's posts. If anybody is interested I'm using Silver High Breed power cables on my amp and preamp and a Shunyata Venom 3 on my cd player. I originally had two PS Audio Prelude power on my power amp and didn't really hear much of a difference...
I support power cords. They made a nice improvement in my system. My thoughts on why they work are better flow of electricity and rfi filtering which lowers the noise floor and improves transparency.
My best guess is for people who own preamps that are only set up for MM or MC. I'm also a Music Hall owner, I have a MMF-9.1. What Music Hall table are you using?
Thank you for the input whart and everybody else that has posted. I use a Music Hall MMF-9.1 should I be concerned about the bearing for the platter with a weight?
