Yes, exactly. Threw a massive soundstage (Totaldac is the same) but lacked mid range body and bass. Honestly sounded way more neutral than I thought it was going too. Had a cold feel to me, and compared to the Triunity the hi end frequency/sparkle wasn't even close.
Sounded hollowed out in the middle. I literally tried to like it, tried every damn combo that was possible in my system. Wasn't my sound. Might not have liked my equipment, who knows but most of the other dacs I've listened were fine. Helene to me was way more hype than the sound I got thats for...
Hopefully! Just upgraded the streamer now I have my eye on upgrading the speakers within the same brand. JM Reynaud. Absolutely in love with those too.
Well I was solely vinyl prior to this DAC, brought a bunch of DACs in recently to listen. Prior to abandoning digital over a year ago I had an MSB Discrete with the two power supplies, then the Helene for a hot minute (didn't like it). This DAC is just mind blowingly good across ALL types of music.
I just got a Triunity and its an absolutely killer DAC. Completely changed my entire system in every way. I literally have to pull myself away from it at night. Vincent definitely tapped into something really special with this series of DACs.
you
Who really cares about a minor misstatement. What might be important you being a (shill) dealer isn’t necessarily important to the rest of the group. I personally wouldn’t send any business your way because of your overall demeanor and that includes over the phone…Guess that sponsorship...
Totaldac..Best DAC I’ve heard. Can listen ALL day and the dynamics are incredible. I have the Triunity and it’s the best source I’ve owned. And that includes some nice vinyl rigs.
I tried the ENO as well and it did nothing to in my system at the time. Doesn't surprise me much since it's passive and no power supply. But I honestly heard ZERO difference. Then tried the gigafoil, I felt that was decent. Now I use a dedicated single switch with reclock and fiber isolation...
Thanks, sorry was looking at an old pic in your system then..Good to know on the USB..I went back and forth with SPDIF and USB and think I prefer the USB.
Did yours screw in or did you have to place them under the DAC? Apparently anything prior to June 2023 you have to send the DAC in to TD for install or you can just place them under? Curious to know which yours was.
Haha! Yes, let all the "Audio Yentas" figure out the crony conspiracy that runs rampant on WBF-everyone knows the reputation here. TD is a great product, I've spent alot of time with it at home in my system as a consumer. Not a dealer/distributor/reviewer shill... Probably one of THE best DACs...
I agree it is tighter and I need to let my ear adjust. I don't have a huge room and my speakers are line transmission so I can feel the impact of bass changes pretty easily. As I run it through more music I should get a better idea of how I feel about it. 90% of my listening is blues, jazz...
