    New Dedicated Listening Room

Do the guests get to butcher the chickens? I think it's good for us to kill and butcher the animals that we eat - it helps us appreciate our connection to nature and the actual impacts on the animals of our dietary choices. You'll probably get more people skipping the chicken dinner and...

    Any cyclists here?

I highly recommend getting a professional bike fit - I put it off for years because I didn't think it would be worth the cost, and that I could make my own adjustments. I was wrong. I had a bike fit with Chris Soden at IOG Bike Fit and Consulting and I was amazed at how many problems he found...

    Grimm Audio MU2 "Major Dac"

Currently Roon is required, but they are developing their own software. I have not seen any estimates of when it will be available.

    Playback Designs MPD-8

It has been a rough ride with the MPS-X. I did read the manual carefully but I have had a couple of problems that might have been prevented with better instructions in the manual. So no, I am not mad at myself because I did carefully follow all of the instructions in the manual. I'm also...

    Playback Designs MPD-8

Thanks - I might have pressed it in too hard the first time I connected it. I can't remove the broken tip now, so I'm using the AES input. I'll probably need to ship it back to PBD to get the tip removed.

Is that the Fidelium wires? They are $1850 now.

PS Audio Regenerator versus Balanced Power/Isolation Transformer for Phono Stage?

Hi Tony - Thanks, and the Whisker/Ting report also says that the "Acceptable Range: 108 to 132 Volts", although maybe this is not ideal for audio? I have solar panels and suspect that they might be causing the high voltage in the daytime.

PS Audio Regenerator versus Balanced Power/Isolation Transformer for Phono Stage?

Here is a review of the Quiescent T500VA. I think I have pretty good power from my utility, but I'm wondering about adding a power conditioner or regenerator. The PS Audio regenerators do have great reviews - I was thinking about trying the PS Audio P12 that is on sale this month. I also...

Can digital get to vinyl sound and at what price?

To be fair, this is a problem with real scientists, too. We tend to get caught up in our assumption that the standard model represents reality and we sometimes dismiss or are not able even to register information that conflicts with our models. It's a difficult challenge to balance...

Are Ethernet tweaks/gimmicks turning out to be like the same in the USB space?

How can a ethernet cable that is disconnected from the DAC, but still connected to the router, affect the signal? Do you need to disconnect all of the ethernet cables that are connected to your router?

    modern piano artists on Qobuz

Qobuz has transformed my listening experience - I've found some excellent modern piano artists (I'm not posting youtube links because the ones I tried don't do them justice) RIOPY, solo piano and piano with string ensembles Olga Scheps, solo piano and piano with vocals Nils Frahm, solo piano...

DarTZeel and Mcintosh - help in picking amp

@Mike Lavigne - You convinced me - I'm waiting on the delivery of a used darTZeel NHB-18NS preamp (original model) and NHB 108 Model 2. I will initially be using Audience AU24 BNC interconnects and stock power cables. I don't have a turntable - is there a large enough difference in the...
