True, any vintage Koetsu is a great find.... My understanding, and maybe their standards have changed, but at one time Koetsu would not take in one of their cartridges if it had be rebuilt/retipped by another company. I remember people getting warned that if they took it somewhere else, Koetsu...
Thanks for info. Hard to find information on these little treasures. It doesn't show on these pics but has a very tiny screw above the gold line on the front. I've seen maybe a couple of ones with this screw, but again, not much to go on and finding someone who knows is just as hard lol.... Will...
Having a pair of the original DMA200 and thus deciding to bi-amp these brutes, I contacted Spectral on thoughts and concerns and service ( if needed ) very helpful and were surprised that I decided to run this as they haven't see many bi-amping these. Also dreaded asking the "Do/Can you still...
I am looking forward to hearing these as well. Not sure the slew rate is ground breaking though. The slew rate on my pair of DMA 2OO's are 1000 volts/microsecond so just a tad slower then the 200 but would still like to hear and compare.....
Thanks for the advice, and have not switched to my Red Dawn cables. Was surprised though when I checked the bag that my dealer sent. They had sent a pair of demo used Z-cords plus he gave me 2 sets of 6' Spectral MI-500 cables ( The older yellow ones....these must have a few years on them lol )
Being a Apogee lover, and having several models. I was curious as to what a safe speaker load my pair of DMA200 ( Class A 200 watt ) would be able to drive, without risking damage ? I do have a pair in storage that are the dreaded 1 ohm version ( ran them with a pair of Classe DR-9's ) but...
I have a 1000SDR that I received ( free ) that still works, however, that said. A dealer took it in about 10 yrs ago for repair as the cd stopped spinning. Being an older unit, they opened it up and replaced the broken band and put it back together. Now the interesting thing, it spins but no...
I understand what your saying, and I loosely used the word raised ( even by cone, puck etc ) but I am trying to understand how a amp, for example can produce enough of a vibration that one can notice a sound difference. I, as mentioned earlier, can understand isolating the vibrations on TT, cd...
Not trying to be negative here, just trying to understand, but how does raising amps, or pre-amps improve the overall sound ? I have a pair of original DMA200's which weigh in at 92 lbs each. They are on the original puck style supports that Spectral used. The only thing I have done was to have...
Picking up my pair of amp bases for my 200's this week. Decided to go with a green granite that I hope won't weigh to much.... Dimensions are 24"L x 22"W and 4" thick.
Now I just have to decide if I want cones, pucks etc......especially with total weight.
Thanks again for replies
