    SET amp owners thread

Thanks Kedar. Good to see you again yesterday. One important thing you didn't mention. My system is completely devoid of foo, with all standard mains cabling, cheap interconnects and speaker cabling.

    Markets

Borough Market Keith? Early Saturday morning is best - crusty bacon sandwich with a cup of steaming tea, then off to buy some epicurean treats to savour for the remainder of the weekend.:p

Have you thought about an Audio Note Io1?

    Analog Warmth

As you most probably know, Jeff used to manufacture a range of compact (fairly) lightweight, cool running class D amps - 201, 501 etc. These did not sell too well so he reverted back to far bigger chassis, then dropped the class D alltogether. I agree with you, but maybe the JR buyers don't?

    Analog Warmth

Not just tubes - class A ss amps are just as bad, maybe worse! My Pass Aleph 2 monos kick out a terrific amount of heat. As you say, great in winter, but in summer I have to alternate with the AC unit - it's too noisy to have it on while music is playing, so it's an hour of listening...

    New Kronos review!

The Delphi V is a great deck - that's why, for such a long period I never felt any compulsion to change it, until I heard the Kronos Pro, then I realised I was listening to something very special. Number 004/250 was the first Kronos imported into the Uk. It was used at a few shows for demo...

    Jim from London - Kronos/Acapella

Thanks for that Tom - I'm starting to feel quite at home here already :) Not sure what you can see in the pic, (cameraphone/poor lighting etc) but there's no anti-vibration gear under it - the feet rest directly onto the metal frame of the wall-mount shelf. (Although of course, the shelf itself...

    New Kronos review!

Not sure, I haven't been to KJ for years. I did buy an amp from them once - way back. But I'd be surprised if they didn't have good demo facilities. KJ weren't an agent for Kronos three years ago.

Me too. I had a MkII for two years and the Mk V for ten.

    New Kronos review!

A London HiFi dealer, who'd supplied me with quite a few items over the years, became the Uk importer for Kronos and naturally, he called me to let me know. Once I'd heard it, bye bye Delphi V, hello Kronos Pro :D

    New Kronos review!

I've had a Kronos Pro (004/250) for three years. It's been a joy to own. It was supplied with a Phantom Supreme 12". Initially with a Lyra Tina i, but upgraded fairly soon afterwards to an Io Gold. As well as sounding absolutely sublime, this TT is ultra reliable. I've never used any type of...
