Hi,
For those of you who does not want to spend a lot of money on a network card, I can recommend this: NET Card XE - JCAT . next-gen computer audio
I installed it in my Extreme, slot 2, and run the installation script that is available from the Taiko homepage. The card is working perfectly...
Well, if you read this: https://www.synergisticresearch.com/accessories/ethernet-switch-uef/ Then, at least, I think that it seem to be a more advanced design. I may be wrong and that is why I raise the question.
Has anyone compared the Taiko switch with the synergistic research ethernet switch uef? The SR switch seem to be a much more advanced design than the Taiko one…
To quote a famous composition: “And though the holes were rather small,
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill (the bracket)…
There is no need for an Upsampler if you use the Taiko. I sold mine as it did not improve the sound when playing from the Taiko. So you need only the Vivaldi DAC and Master Clock.
Off course, the Nagra is much better sounding. I was just commenting the signal processing. I owned the Nagra HD DAC for two years and it did sound amazingly good. Very analog. The Rossini is not at all as good sounding as than the Vivaldi.
Well that is exactly what PS Audio is doning: https://www.psaudio.com/products/directstream-dac/
and at a much lower price…. Have you listen to the Nagra DAC and compared it to e.g. the dCS Vivaldi DAC? I am thinking about replacing my DAC.
What I meant was, how does the DAC convert DSD music files? There are only two ways to do this, either with DSD over PCM (DoP) or by using a resistor ladder. Do you know which one of these methods Nagra uses? (I agree about your comment on MQA BTW)
Magico is a brand with good reputation, but what about Wilson Audio? They have made loadspeakers for almost 50 years and in my opinion, they make, without comparison, THE best speakers. Do yourself a favor and go and listen to the Wilson Alexx V, or Chronosonic XVX...
