I tried with a Chord Dave (but for a limited time) and everything was ok.
On the other hand with the Denafrips DAC this issue was solved when I added a linear power supply to the streamer.
I guess the USB implementation on the Denafrips is quite sensitive and the streamer + the standard PS is...
As stated in one of the previous posts: I had some issues with my IFI zen stream + denafrips pontus 2 dac. From time to time (sometimes when listening flac files after DSD) I could hear some noises / distortions in one of the speakers. To fix that I usually had to change the input on the dac...
Another question (referred only to streamers connected to externals DAC's):
Considering that the streamer only passes the digital signal to the DAC is there any difference between the IFI Zen Stream and let's say a very very expensive Streamer (like one from Aurender) in terms of the signal...
from the graphic it results there is no difference between the battery and iPower elite because the variation is well below the digital signal voltages (0.4 V). The second source (which is not a battery) can alter the signal in the low frequency zone.
Do you have a similar graphic with the...
I thought of that too, but if there were a difference then at least it would sound worse or different. But if it sounds the same I suspect the sourse have no impact on the digital delivery. After all, the streamer just passes the digital signal to the DAC, it's not doing anything to it.
It's very easy to test without buying an expensive linear power supply (maybe more expensive than the streamer itself): Just use a 12V battery or a lithium ion jump starter for the car.
It happens that I have a noco booster 2000 and I used it to power the streamer --> I could not hear any...
I saw that some people have issues with the source that came with this streamer (strong noises, etc) that in some cases were solved by changing the power source. Below is my experience and how I solved it.
First: my streamer came with the cheap chinese power source and not the Ifi one.
I had...
