Can a Technics SL-1200G challenge the state of the art?
I love that Devon plays avant-garde/free jazz to demo his gears just to turn off the audiophiles and that's good enough for me. The newer generation of Technics direct-drive turntables all use a coreless motor and that's worth investing time in modifying. Best of luck to you, struts!- directdriver

Based on your picture of the Reed 5A tonearm. The bearing on the guiding mechanism looks crooked. Am I seeing it right? All the other pictures from the Reed website, it looks straight.- directdriver

The Basis Superarm...not to be confused with---
The Superarm or Vector has a secondary bearing. It's a ball bearing wrap around a spike so the arm can lean on that ball bearing.
