yes the cd 94 is something special
Best cdm 1 with Rodenstock glass lens, never before has such a quality been built into any other cd transport. a little digital output mod like lampizator does and you have a flagship.

Never before — never after.

This one is modded and valve clocked by maestro abbas himself. See posts #5 and #19.

with transformer-coupled xlr aes / ebu digital output it is significantly better than, for example, CEC TL 1X.;)Have fun with the machine

Dont know that I would run it up against an Abbas modded Marantz 94 but it can spin! Currently running with an Abbas 4.1SE DAC.

Not had it long so modifications are in the offing and then maybe?:)

They are different machines and covert a 94 in good condition, sure the experience would be thrilling.

Some old players are better than new ones, especially as there’s not many made today.
I've wanted the Japanese version of Marantz cd 94+ dac for 10 years. in japan called it cd 12. amazing devices never find in good condition.:(

Its a bout all i was intending for this unit and will be an interesting journey I hope.

This was in the air or on the water as a Marantz 94 came up for sale and just had to hold off.
The Abbas modifications to the 94 I am really curious about but dont think he is doing these anymore. So a bigger learniing curve if I I whent down this path. The TL-1X upgrade path seemed simpler and really whistles with the DAC.

Hi all

I'm trying to decide whether to order a DHT Lampizator or the Abbas 3.2 signature.

I assume you guys would consider the 3.2 superior?

My only concern is that the Abbas units might sound too "soft" given their vintage chipsets, when compared to Lampizator's engine 53?

The 3.2 does look like tremendous value having said that...

I would yes.

I wouldnt say abbas is “soft”. “Right” is a better word.

To my ears delta-sigma sound “synthetic”.

I love my 3.2se. Signature is supposedly even better.

Dont expect super fast delivery times.

You have heard the Lampi in compares to say this, with different tubes, or is this a generalizsation based on delta sigma?

Ive heard the lampizator big 7 against abbas 2.1se on two occasions. So yes, its extrapolation and generalisation.
