Well, I guess it's disclosure time... reintroducing myself...

Hello Everyone,

I've been a member here for almost three years and in that time have grown to really appreciate this as a place for grown-ups to meet and discuss their audio addiction. One of the things that I've always appreciated is the fact that industry insiders are required to disclose their association so that members may apply the appropriate interpretive filter if need be. Well, I guess it's time to make my own disclosure.

Around the middle of April of this year my dealer (and good friend) started to contemplate his retirement. Over the years he and I have talked about me buying him out, but the timing was never right. As this was going to end up being my last opportunity to take on his store I threw caution to the wind and entered negotiations. After 5 months of discussions, attorneys, accountants, vacations, family drama and the general distractions of life we finally executed an agreement on October 1.

Knowing that there was a deal in process I tempered my participation here as I didn't want anything that I posted during the acquisition phase to be construed as biased toward my own interests. For reference, it's safe to say that anything posted prior to 4/1/13 is solely based on my personal opinion and anything after that may be clouded (although it likely isn't).

So, there it is. I've added another business to my portfolio of hobbies turned into livelihood and I'm finding myself with even less free time than I had before.

In case you are interested, the store is Esoteric Audio in Phoenix and we carry Aesthetix, Basis, Boulder, Bricasti, Clearaudio, Conrad-Johnson, Esoteric, Graham, Jeff Rowland, Kimber, Magico (new line), Music Hall, psb, Rockport, Shunyata, Theta, Transparent, VTL, and Wadia.

Wish me luck :D

Now for a little frivolity:

You really need to consider the Radio Shack line.

Best wishes for your success,
zz

Thank you all for the kind words.

This is something that I've wanted to do for the better part of 10 years. Without the launching-point of an established store with a solid line card I doubt I would have taken the leap.

On the downside, I haven't even looked at my system in the last 30 days much less listened to it!
