Vitus Master Stereo MP-S 201 ... Munich 2014 Debut

If your speakers don't need the power then this low powered Vitus is probably better sounding than this new big behemoth. It has been generally true that while the big amps are for show the little ones in a brand usually sound better.
The Masterpiece series offer more precision and control, but are not as 'romantic' or tube-like as the smaller integrated. In some systems I actually prefer the previous SS-101 which sounds closer to the SIA-025. The SS-102 has filter down parts from the MP series & if anything, sounds more like an MP series amp. Good things come in small packages? :)

Great photos! This behemoth will have 1.200.000uF total capacitance!!

Bodhi , did you hear anything about them being biased to run cooler ? I guess you have to counter the heat , that such a large Pure Class A amp will spew .

Jazz, Hans told me the MP-S201 has a special built in feature - its blue to begin with - then turns slightly orange - then red when it is fully warm... in its special "Rambo" mode - it gets SO HOT it turns white! Here is a photo of an MPS fully warmed up ;) ...

Love it! Great endorsement of Ultra 5s! I use them under the Gryphon Colosseum and found benefit.
+ 1. I was very impressed by the improvement in sound obtained from using the Ultra 5's as discussed in my review of the SIA-025.

Those input sensitivity numbers look delicious :D

That's the first time i've seen a full Vitus spec sheet. I recently gave Vitus feedback I think they need to offer more technical info, so that's good to see. And yes, superlative figures indicating excellent engineering :)

Amazing

To deliver 700W + 700W =1400W/8 ohms (12.5Amps) at full power it only consumes 550W (2.5Amps at 220V) at full power. That class A arrangement must really slide around! Unless it actually creates energy?

I believe Vitus are using a variable bias design for the MP-S201 similar to what Boulder are doing.
