Jbl 4429

Hello,
I would like to upgrade the internal wiring and driver connexions of my 4429, but accessing the HF and UHF drivers from the inside is difficult.
How would you do it? The sonoglass horns seem to be fastened from the inside and it a also looks tricky.
Thank you for your help

I will make an external crossover with improved parts as well, I just want to do everything at once.

Be very careful if you decide to crack the cabinets. See if the UHF drivers have slip on clips. They can be the ones that lock onto the driver terminals. You have to carefully engage the locking clip before you try to remove the wires. If you don't I have seen more than one damaged driver with a clip broken off.

I would not change the wiring out. It's not worth the risk of any collateral damage.

Rob :)

I'm not sure it is the best part of the forum to ask my questions, I've opened another thread here :
I'll focus on the crossover upgrades there. Thanks
