Hello

I'm corrently using NOS Mullard ecc83 and one NOS tripple mica sylvania 12at7.
These tubes are hard to get and werry expencive, so i'm looking for new tubes.

I acctuly like the sylvania werry mutch and would like to find one more. But the mullards are up to change.

But i dont know witch i shall look for. I would like a werry dynamic tube, that Plays Music.
If i would change the sylvania, can you recomend one?

Pierre

Hi Pierre,

I can very safely recommend the Valvo 7308, Navy Amperex and Mullard CV2492 in your 6922/6dj8 positions. For 12at7 I've not tried many. Once I tried Tele 801s', I stayed there.

:)

As a relatively inexpensive solution try a Mullard CV4024 for the 12AT7.

If you want a dynamic tube, you don't want that Mullard ECC83. Warm and cozy yes, dynamic no. I would try to find the following: Siemens ECC83, Raytheon blackplate 12ax7, Matshushita tilted getter, RCA blackplate, Tung Sol square getter, Amperex I65. If you can use them, 5751 are a great substitute. Can't help with the 12at7 as I don't use them.
Good luck.
