The rarity of privilege....

Thanks guys , I tried to make it as "non studio" as I can but still fully treated.

Great views from the rest of the house as well....

Lovely pics Rodney. CPT is the place to be, though winters can be a bit rough and wet! If I had a chance, I would leave joburg tomorrow, head down to the western cape, buy a place in franschhoek and call it a day! I wish.....
The only grouse I have is I don't get myself down to CPT often which is a pity. But I am planning around spring this year so will give you a shout. I would kill to listen to your set up. Likewise, if you are planning to be up here in joburg anytime soon, I will be deleted to host you.

Cheers

Sujay

I've been to joburg, Durban and Cape Town a few times.
Just 6 months before 2010 World Cup, we visited a family 2 hours drive from joburg.
They just bought a 5999rand HT system for the 17yr son.
One week later the boy died during the robbery at their place.
The sales manager assured us it had nothing to do with us visiting them, and I like to think a couple of cars visiting their house standing along in wide open fields did not invite undue attention, but.....
Stay safe, always.

Now THAT is a listening room!! Meets both the form and function criteria. Very, very well done. Really nice. Congratulations. Most dedicated listening spaces I have seen lean strongly toward the "recording studio look" - as does mine. Even Mike's very interesting looking room. Steve's new room [and most certainly yours] being an exception. Can't tell from the photos but how large is the room [looks huge] and how far do you sit from the speakers?

Sujay , I seldom venture up North, the Cape town bubble gets burst too quickly...
you are more than welcome to come around and have a listen , shoot the breeze, meet some of the other nutters here :)
It is indeed a wild and wet day here , some pinotage/scotch and Basia is wafting out the music room while we sit in the lounge with a roaring Kameeldooring fire on the go..I love the smell of a fire..

Audioguy , the room is just over 6m x 8m , or 19ft x 25ft...lowish ceiling at 2.3m .. but I cant go higher , there is a slab above it
I sit around 4m from speakers , 12 ft or so , speakers are about 10 ft apart..they essentially stand in free space.

Jerome. Not to be negative , but crime is rampart here .. and its violent crime , like hijacking and shooting , home invasions with torture , rape and death..and it's not if you get hit , it's when..I'm sure your cars had nothing to do with it , owners of smallholdings and farmers are seen as soft targets. If I had to list the security precautions I take , you would think I'm paranoid.

I would not think you are paranoid!

There is a dopey movie series here named The Purge, the plot of which is that one night per year police stay home and everyone can commit whatever mayhem they wish. It sounds like real life there.

I sure am going to take you up on that.......thanks Rodney

Denmark number one ???
Should go again i live close , havent been much up north , visited denmark and Norway only briefly

I worked for a Danish company and worked on and off in Denmark for a couple years. It was great... good food, nice people, beautiful women. :) Copenhagen is beautiful, clean, really nice place to live imo. I spent most time in Viborg and Rinkobing but usually flew into Copenhangen, spend the night in a nice hotel, go out, etc, then rent a car and drive.

Allo monsieur andromedaaudio,

The link of the best countries to live in the world in 2016 (30 places), is only one of several other lists.
They are all different; some with an emphasis on weather 365 days a year, the average taxes, the scenery, the people, the economics, the social aspect, the education system, the crime rate, the natural air, ...brief many many other aspects that make many world countries beautiful places to live with the people, the wildlife and the surrounding nature.

If each one of us would make our own list, there will be slight or larger variations from our lists...all depending.
I have my own favorite places based mostly on scenery, then on people.
I love a good diversification in weather/seasons, a good peaceful people, and I also love wildlife. Good food is in France, so is the wine...and the women. :b
{Beautiful women abound in many places of the world; and some with beautiful mind too.}

Anyway, what counts is that good music ? helps everywhere.

? I wouldn't mind be living in Switzerland area, in the Alps.

______

And there are tons of lists and videos; and when you average them all for every aspect that makes them the best countries to live in the world, some will make that top ten list.
Not just for scenery, and for climate, for the people, the clean air, the super relaxing all around place for best music listening, but also for total happiness fulfillment...physically and mentally.

I admit, some of those lists aren't accurate; they are more promotional, and some are quite arguable. ...Same thing in our audio world. :b
And there are some beautiful countries with high corruption, even close to us. ...Another factor that affects the overall rating.

Mount Roraima Paradise Falls
Angel Falls, the tallest waterfall in the world (3,212 feet) looks similar to the ficticuous Paradise Falls.
