I read this from another source. Not even close to a surprise to me.

With the crap we put in our bodies (that we call food), it's a surprise that cancer isn't even a larger problem.

Understood. But what we often forget is that our bodies are also chemical factories built to deal with some of these issues. We have built in mechanisms (eg. the liver, DNA repair enzymes, cellular death, etc.) to help excrete harmful compounds (carcinogens, mutagens and teratogens) more quickly from our bodies. Also the damage has to occur in critical genes that also changes the odds. Then you can toss in genetic and epi-genetic mechanisms for good measure.

Good grief. I am waiting for water to be declared unhealthy :).

Remember when everyone was drinking Perrier years ago because it was supposedly healthier and they found benzene in it? :(

I knew the whole smog thing was a myth!!!

Yeah you should see if you can find the Southpark smog episode about electric cars!
