How sad, how young! Sadly those artists that were such a part of our youth and influences are leaving us for a better world (I hope). Thank you Lou!

Sad news. I'm a big Lou fan and was just listening to 'new Sensations' the other day.

I used to see Lou in downtown NY all the time. You would just say "Hey Lou" and he would nod. A friend of mine played in his band in the mid 90s.

The Velvet Underground and stuff like Transformer are impossible to measure as far as their influence.

I can't tell you how many Velvet and Reed sound alike bands were playing bars in New York every night.

I used to see him and Laurie in a Chinese restaurant we used to go to in Chelsea all the time. The spouse and I both had a hard time trying to play it cool.

I was on jury duty a few weeks ago: the alleged crime was selling heroin - at Lexington and 125! It was all I could do not to break out into "Waiting for My Man" during proceedings. Repeatedly.

He will be missed.
