December 2010 - PSC Audio - New from Australian cable specialist PSC Audio is the über high-end AG Monolith interconnect cable which retails at US$42,000. This cable took over 15 years to develop with a concerted R&D effort in the last three years culminating in the purchase of a CNC machine. It uses manufacturing methodologies the company claims are unique in the industry. The pure silver ribbon conductor is annealed in a multi-step process and via a proprietary method shaped into the connector’s centre pin itself. This method of connection is the best possible way to interface two components as there are zero connectors and solder points at either ends to affect the resistance and impedance of the conductor. This configuration and construction technique maximizes signal transfer and is said to reap superb sonic benefits.

Let's say the CNC machine costs $100K. Let's say he is paying 5% interest on a loan he used to buy it. That amounts to $5000/year or $400 month or about $10/day. Let's say a skilled operator takes 8 hours to make it @60/hour. That makes 8x$60+10= $490. You figure out the rest .

I don't know Amir, you are looking at a minimum of $42,000 per component connected in a 1m length. That is certainly a tough nut to swallow.

What about the upper class that to them 40K is like $100.00 to you. They have so much $$$ they pee green. Let them buy it and brag about it @ their social events in the Zillion $$$ homes.
