It looks like my beloved Accustic Arts Power 1 integrated amp is dying a slow death. Sometimes I do not get any sound from it. Cycling power works sometimes. My feeling is that the problem is just something simple like a relay or something. So my options are:
1. Fix the amp and while I am at it mod with upgraded internal components like power outlet, capacitors, etc. My nerdy side actually likes this option. The big issue is finding a reputable person who can do the fix and mod in Southern California.
2. Upgrade to a new (to me) integrated. This is of course the more fun option but I really love my Accustic Arts integrated regardless of price. So the question is what are potential upgrade candidates at this same price point (<$5K)?
BTW, my speakers are Sonus Faber Evolution monitors. I listen mainly to acoustic and folk music at low to medium volume so a magical and intimate vocal reproduction is paramount to me.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
