Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One | Official Trailer (2023 Movie) - Tom Cruise

ok then lets say the Last Samerai , Tom Cruise at his best IMO and a really excellent movie. Entertaining and well written it actually has a story and characters you care about. Hollywoood is just follwoing this Marvelesque formula of chases and crashes and effects rather than actually write a great story. If that enetertains you great for me its a very low bar.
I was thoroughly entertained Elliot but I do agreee with you on all points. Nonetheless this is an action movie and what we got is what was expected. Far from a great story and yes Last Samurai was excellent but again you're comparing apples and oranges IMO even though I agree on all your points.

and finally FWIW, for those of us who were followers of the original TV series, the plot was thin in every TV episode but the episodes were filled with stunts and action etc. It was one of my all time favorite TV shows but when each episode was over , that was it. So also with this movie even though we will all likely see part 2 again filled with stunts and action but thin on story. It's all good IMO

Can’t wait to see it. Sounds excellent!

This film is the best film in MI series. Never boring in a single minute. I don’t feel the movie is long. Actually, I feel the movie is short. When the movie ends, I thought that’s it? I can continue to watch.

Just finished. Great movie IMAX. We enjoyed the entire movie but the yellow Fiat scenes were rather hilarious.

Agree about the Last Samurai, Elliot. One of my all time favorites.

My favorite movies with Cruise are “The Firm” and “The Last Samurai.” This MI movies is number three for us, an exceptional movie.

Saw it this afternoon. It was okay for the genre. I’m sorry but I can only enjoy so much nonstop action in a film. The screenwriters had it pretty easy here as most of the dialogue was explaining why the various parties were chasing after the key. i must say there were a few humorous scenes and lines.

Saw MI this past Monday, really enjoyable - already anxious for Pt 2.

Previews had a trailer for Bob Marley - One Love coming out in 2024 - looked interesting
