This movie is excellent - in some ways, a play inside of a movie which makes sense as the film's lead character, played by Adam Driver, is a theatrical director in NYC with Johansson his actress, soon to be ex-wife. The story is about divorce but different to me than than Kramer vs Kramer (which was devoid of any humor). The "fight" scene very well could lead to hardware for Driver who was spectacular. The supporting cast is also quite good with Laura Dern, Alan Alda, and Ray Liotta- Dern in particular was wonderful as the high-priced LA divorce lawyer. While I'm usually not a fan of "films" like this - or somewhat depressing stories (see Manchester by the Sea) - I felt this was an A movie that was both funny, yet sad in the same scene at times. There is a reason this gets a 93 on Metacritic. Highly recommended.
