I'm thinking of getting an MSB Discrete and selling my HoloAudio May KTE. I'm hesitant over giving up the mode of playback.

Can someone please, relieve the stress?

Have you heard the Discrete? If not, I suggest you get one to demo before getting one. If you don't have a dealer nearby, Vince @ MSB can set you up.

Big purchase like that deserves a listen. Demo from dealer, or go to a show where one is being shown in a system.

I say that in a positive way. I have the first holo audio spring KTE.version. While it’s but an ancestor to the May, the flavor is there. Yet the MSB Premier is much better.

Worth the effort to get a chance to listen to the Discrete.

Yes, hearing the unit before purchase is mandatory. You need to make sure that it fits your system and your tastes.

NOS per se isn't that important to my tastes. My DAC doesn't have it.

100% agree. Considering so many other important things, power supply, output stage, receiver & reclocking, etc., I feel like oversampling is just one variable that can easily be overshadowed by the effects of other aspects of the design. And on top of that, if the DAC offers tube rolling...
