Hi,

I have been lurking on this website for a while, and I decided to join. I have to admit to being a little out of my depth when it comes to the technical details of audio, so I may ask some very naïve questions .

I like Jazz, Classical, Progressive Rock, and so-called Alternative music. I have been mostly listening to Classical since getting my audio gear.

My system consists of a Mcintosh MA6600 integrated amplifier, Wilson Sophia II speakers, and an Arcam CD17cd player, which is on loan from the store from which I bought the amplifier and speakers. At some point, I’ll need to get a CD player to replace the loaner, but I’m not sure what to get (I’d like digital inputs).

Thanks for the welcome. I'm not so sure about the mechanical thing - I was once defeated by a can-opener. I didn't inherit any of my father's skills when it comes to mechanics or electronics, unfortunately.

I work in drug development (clinical trials, etc.) for a pharmaceutical company, but we don’t make those kind of drugs.
