Forgive me for starting yet another thread on this subject. After all I am both the unofficial host and reporter for the WBF. I don't think I will be there all three days. Maybe Friday and Saturday. I really enjoyed the buffet at last years show. this year perhaps I will have a strategy for assuring I visit all the rooms with the great stuff. I checked the exhibitor list and it seems to be a good cross section of equipment. The Mola Mola will be there. I hope it lives up to its reputation.
I don't think I will covr it live c. Real time is probably a better term, if I see something I really like.
Hope to see you there.
Maybe I will get to hear the Von Schwiekert VR 9 Ultra. It always looks beautiful and static.

Hope to see you there, Greg! You’ll like the VR 9 Ultra. They sounded fantastic at FLAX.

We will be doing the US introduction of the Divin Sovereign Subwoofers along with the Divin Marquis. We will be showing with Oz and the Thrax electronics in the same room as last year. Please come on in and introduce yourself.

I hope to attend and bring my son there as well. if he don’t go I’ll be wondering around alone lol.

I wonder if it will do any good to bring any CD-Rs to the show. Most exhibitors in the last show or two I’ve been to have all but abandoned playing visitors’ CDs. Between those that stream and those that prioritize vinyl playback, it almost makes it seem like CDs are dead. Not complaining really, just observing.

images.jpgso funny. I had the wrong date for the show.

What time?

hopefully i will be wearing some kind of makeshift badge.
may be my focus will be on high end speakers.

Thanks to Hurricane Nicole my trip to CAF is canceled. I was unable to book an alternative flight on Friday, so given the distance and cost I decided it wouldn’t pay for a day and a half visit. Have fun everybody! :(

i seem to recall a Florida show in the not too distant future. hope you can make it there.

Yep. February. I go to the Florida show. It’s actually stepping up to be a great regional show. Hey, I heard the U.S. Premier of the Ultra 7s there! :D You should swing down for one, Greg. Nice weather, good town, surprisingly decent sounding rooms, friendly show. Kind of like CAF.:)

So I am 8n the Genesis room now. Gary is here.

Whew a sigh of relief. Gary had a great room. He even had real cups for his coffee.
Vpi turntable
Merril class D mono blocks
Also interesting was the tonearm. Vey nice.
Caveat I am just not a fan of class D amps. The Merril is however a candidate for best in breed.
Is it a baby Genesis? Its one box open baffle with floor mounted woofer. There is a significant enclosure to the rear. Fit and finish are impeccable. The wings are laminated hdmf.
It is a dipole. Gary was not using any rear treatment. Distance between speakers was a little wide for my taste.
Gary played a Patricia Barber lacquer for me.
The speaker is a true line source. Two lines of tweeter and midrange drivers.
It has everything Greg wants in a speaker. Did it deliver? In spades.
Congratulations Gary and Carol. This should be a success.
