Forbidden Planet

Warner Bros. is releasing Forbidden Planet on Sept. 7 on Blu-Ray. As a long-time fan of this flick (and Krell) it'll be great to see it at its best.

WOW. I remember this movie from about 50 years ago when I saw it in the theaters. This will go on my list. Sort of in the same category as Logan's Run (but not exactly)!!

It looks really good. I watched it all over again when I got that disc.

Yes, the HD-DVD version has a fantastic picture. I still have a lot of HD-DVDs in which I will most likely not double dip with Blu-ray, as long as I have a working HD-DVD player. However, I will double dip on this one.

Funny you should mention that. I never bought it on Laser disc and later HD-DVD. I also still have my Toshiba HD-DVD player and movies. This is one I have to finally buy on Blu Ray.

You know, to this date, I still can't believe how they pulled off all of those special effects so far back. I know the techniques, but still, amazing work. The movie seems somewhat modern even by today's standards! I still remember watching it with amazement when I first saw as a child....
