Are you sure? They were temporarily out of product but I think the EATS are back in production now. I just got some ECC83s for my Doshi (without the damping rings) and they sound very good. Pricey though.

1. Regarding availability of EAT 6922: I tried to buy them at the end of June and I was told that they are NOT available and that they don't know when they will be. I mailed Jozefina Lichtenegger (CEO of EAT) yesterday and she told me that these tubes are available again. :)
2. Regarding EAT 6922 origin. Again according to Jozefina Licthenegger, these tubes are "specially selected NOS tubes". EAT 300B and KT88 are produced in their factory in Prague. I will ask her again about the origin of 6922. With the new stock, maybe that has changed too....

Marcus,

Thanks for the clarification.

Also, I noticed one well known website has listed late November for the EAT ECC88 tube availability.

Posted on the "tube" section.

EAT sent me an e-mail today indicating that the ECC88 is being shipped and will be available soon.

I spoke too soon. Swapped out the factory tube for the EAT ECC88 tube today.

What an upgrade.

Absolutely no tube hiss, much improved bass pitch definition, dimensionality, apparent speed, etc.

Everything is much better.

Now I know why folks roll tubes.

A very happy camper.

I still don't know if this is a NOS tube or a new EAT tube.

Mark AFAIK all EAT tubes are freshly made.

Their website only lists a 300B and a KT-88. Their past 6922 tubes were NOS. I haven't seen anything that shows they have a 6922 in current production, but I may have missed it.

Um, let's see some factory pictures of the the tube being made. Any tube could be hiding under that cooler.

I sent an e-mail to Jozefina regarding their ECC88. NOS or made by EAT.

Will post once I get a response.

GG

PS: "Music Direct" has them available again.

As I said earlier, EAT ECC88 are not new production. They are NOS - in Jozefina's words "a very special NOS". I ordered a pair and we'll see how good they are...

That's what I thought, but other people keep saying that EAT has little gnomes making their very own 6922s and I hadn't seen any proof of that.
