Everything Everything were on Jools Holland again this week.

(Is the programme available in the US as soon as it is shown here in the UK?)

Way cool. No the programs are not available until a few months later here. However
I believe all episodes are available online at the BBC website.

I'm a little late to the 2012 release by the Australian band 'Husky' called "Forever So". The LP is the exception that proves the rule that colored vinyl sounds bad.

Forgot to mention the 2nd LP by Lotus Plaza "Spooky Action at a Distance", 2012. Lotus Plaza is the solo vehicle for Locket Pundt, the guitarist and songwriter from Deerhunter.

Really looking forward to the upcoming Deerhunter release "Monomania" next month

I like the jangling guitars....:) That is why I am a big early Byrds fan...

Wolf People are doing a short North American tour in October:
http://www.wolfpeople.co.uk/wordpress/?p=792

I've now seen them live and they're just fantastic. The problem is, their sound was so overwhelmingly superb that it makes my 12 inch woofers sound like a Dansette.

Really like this! Adding it to 'the list'. Thanks for the heads up.

I know nothing about the band Tribes, and I don't know whether they qualify as "exciting" but I just caught a few snippets of their new album and I think some people might like it quite a lot.

Just stumbled upon this band. Uncannily similar sound to White Denim on their 'D' album - which is far from a bad thing. (Check out that album if you haven't already..!)

They can do it live, too:

Really nice album called On and On. Playing in NYC in a couple of weeks.

What other excellent stuff is out there that I've never heard of?
