Carbon nanotube fibers are as conductive as copper, very sturdy, and have low corrosion.

The company Dexmat makes yarns, and I just saw this funny video of a demo use for auxiliary cables. Funny, because I could not discern any difference in audio quality, but I think the point was just to show that it worked. The employee presenting the demo certainly looks happy with the results.

600$ for a meter, so that qualifies as hi-fi :)

I am curious to learn more.

It would be interesting to read their research. They see this material as being a viable replacement for kevlar and or carbon-kevlar. The only issue is that kevlar fiber becomes brittle when exposed to friction and or heat. Back in the 1990's we experimented with kevlar suspension-lines on parachutes and after about 500 jumps the lines would simply "pop" from the friction caused by the deployment slider descending down the suspension lines.

Promising and anything to lessen the impact on the environment. Though home audio is a tiny segment.
