I had Sophia electric Royal Princesses in my 300 B amp around 900 -1000 $ , supposedly very good bass for a 300 B , the western electric has" supposedly" great midrange at the expense of deep bass and that for $ 9400 ,......no thank you

They are status symbols, especially in Asia. I suppose you would place them in the category of veblens. The STC 4300b are supposed to sound better, but are much rarer.

Plenty of modern day 300b to choose from that sound great.
