Argo

The end of each year typically brings out all of the best movies worthy of Oscar consideration. I saw such a film today with Ben Affleck's Argo. For me, this film year to date is hands down the best. I predict it will garner (no not his wife) nominations for Best Picture,Best Actor and Best Director. This film delivers and will keep you on the edge of your seat. We all remember the US Iranian hostage sort from 1979-1980 with the hostages held for 444 days. Along with this however comes a story which we only came to learn of when it was declassified in 1997. Specifically it involves getting 6 other US citizens who escaped the Embassy to the home of the Canadian Ambassador and how they were led out of the country by Ben Affleck's character.

It's one heck of a story played out in 2 suspenseful hours on the screen. This one us not to be missed. Make sure you stay for the rolling credits at the end.

Very well made movie, brings back lots of memories as it happened during my college days. Tension was incredibly high in those times, like what would have happened if the hostage takers killed the hostages. One of the best movies I've seen from Ben Affleck. Now I know the meaning of 'argonauts'. :)
