I enjoyed it, too.

"35. Having a huge wall of nothing but records. Living the dream."

#15 and the feeling is incomparable when its an Lp you've searched high and low for, is NM or better and underpriced to boot:p

#25 i wouldnt know what thats about:rolleyes:

#34 that thought has crossed my mind, it never ceases to amaze me:b

I see test pressings mentioned, but my vice are WLP's; an expensive habit :D

They forgot the stench of dust and mildew, the endless clumps of Barbara Streisand, Barry Manilow, Mitch Miller, Ferrante and Teichner, Rod McKuen, Lawrence Welk, Swingle Singers etc. that give you the "badge of honor" finger calluses from finding great records at the thrifts.

I gave up on thrift stores a long time ago. Yeah, you might be lucky and come across some gems. You are probably just as likely to go into an Amish community and find people with beautiful teeth.

Saved yourself from a nasty case of "vinyl collector's" black lung as well.

5-10 yrs ago thrift stores were great places to go...now, not so much. Still doesn't prevent me from stopping by though.......if my nose smells vinyl I need to investigate!

The 'new' thrift store is bottom feeding on the Internet. If you have the time, and are willing to work the keys and formulate different search requests, you can sometimes find bargains compared to market price. Granted, you are still dependent on the seller's grading, but since you can't really play-grade in a used vinyl store, you are pretty much in the same boat. And you don't have to leave the comfort of your shack.

Yes! This has turned into a hobby of sorts.

#4 More often than one thinks, less than one wants :)

#5 Visited the store (on the far right of the picture) in Denver-don't waste your time :( Twist'n'Shout far better store!

14 (a) Dumpster diving.

#25 How could I forget?

My friend's sister used to sunbathe using an album cover wraped in tin foil to reflect the sun.
