All this judgement on so called design facts that introduce model progress , a new tweeter here a mk 2 version there ( 2 dimensional graphene one atom thick layer ? for the mid membrane )
I am more interested in reading magico Q 7 listening expiriences on a longer term or expiriences versus other LS brands ,what about the sound / listeningsatisfaction in the long term .
These people remind me of apple owners , version 1 2 3 4 5 and ultra thin six and still chasing happiness /satisfaction until the next model comes out

Thanks for pointing that out, Mike. I honestly interpreted that as 'improved' but I guess it is referring to the fact that the Q7 is much more efficient than the M and that the tweeter had to be adjusted.

My bad, didn't mean to stir things up.

well.....it is on Magico and not you with all the relatively frequent changes.....and different people with understandably different perspectives spinning those changes (without intended malice).

changed by a manufacturer is generally expected to = 'improved'. but sometimes/occasionally changed=changed.

""Brings high frequency reproduction one step closer to perfection" - Clearly postioned as an "improvement". I feel the pain of owners of the "M" series.

I felt no pain when my mini2 was replaced with the Q1 and I'm not so sure that M project owners are going to feel any pain with the introduction of the new Q7 Mark II. The last few percent sonic improvements must be weighed against the overall aesthetic of the speaker and the cost of the speaker.

It's a different class speaker....much larger Q7 versus the M project.

Pain?! You must be joking. Perhaps you can feel the joy instead. :D

My Mproject is being shipped over to me, as we speak and expected to be delivered to my home early next week..I have ordered the Sub Q18 and was informed by my dealer that will be delivered to me in early March.,will post when they are both in place.

Wow, M + q18, that looks very interesting. I look to get my M projects in 2-3 weeks, let us keep in touch.

So Christian do you agree with the post that the M project owners are going to feel pain with the Q7 tweeter being released?

I think the point he was trying to make is that the M project owners would feel they no longer have the best technology and feel pain as a result. Perhaps I misunderstood what he was trying to say.

I should reiterate, that I don't agree that M Project owners will necessarily feel any "pain" because of the Q7 MkII. The M is an amazing speaker, it looks incredible and it sounds fantastic. And it is considerably less expensive than the Q7, Mk I and MkII. They should be thrilled with owning such an achievement.

I think you're correct. Hence my previous comment about Magico "tech" shelf life.

As an aside, I wonder how many manufacturer's make improvements on a newly released product and don't make that info public?

Seems like they would take this path to avoid upsetting customers who recently purchased their products or new SOTA tech thereof.

And it begs the question as to why Magico would make such an announcement so close to the previous driver iteration, which was released 2(?) months or so ago.

Doesn't seem like "smart" marketing to me but what do I know.
