Really. I just bought the Classic 45 RPM out of print sealed LP box of this album which I would have thought would have been way more valuable than a CD. Maybe the guy is dreaming?
There are already 9 bids on this CD. Unless he has some shill bidding going on, he might just get what he wants for it. If he does, you may see more coming out of the woodwork. If you are lucky, you may see one go up with no reserve. If nobody bids on that one, you may end up getting it for considerably less. You may not see another unopened one though.
Starting bid was $9. It is the bidders not the seller. In fact I have spent thousands with this particular seller for many Classic Records test pressings.

It's been going on for a while...especially the original Mofi gold cd's. These classic records, "Classical Releases" must sound pretty good...for CD. I have this on single sided Clarity 45 rpm.

I have an original and the Classic reissue, and while the sound is impressive, I didn't think that the performance was particularly outstanding. Is there a reason for the high price?
Is this a rare case of digital being better than analog?
many people don’t do analog and are 100% digital which is part of the reason for the high prices, that and they pressed so few of them. i bought a few dozen of the reissued Classic gold CDs of the living stereo and Decca catalog back in the day (i don’t have 2449). i saw what they're worth now and they'll all go on epay to fund new vinyl - who said CDs aren’t recyclable!
btw, last week i was at hobson's store in LA and picked up a sealed clarity 45 rpm box of LSC 2449 for 150 bones.
