Remarkable. But one has to question the point of spending 200 hours "painting" a perfect reproduction of a photograph that was shot in a split second.

I guess that is akin to asking why people climb mountains.

The graphic artist certainly made an excellent representation of the original photograph, but it is very misleading to call it a painting.

A painting is made with real brushes and real paint on canvas or panels.

Just out of curiosity, I would like to see exactly how accurately this was accomplished by having the original photograph and the copy posted side by side in Hi-Rez.

I suppose. Not the most efficient way to get to the top of a mountain. But there is an adventure, a physical challenge involved. This one just seems pointless to me, but maybe that's just me.

That is certainly one amazing "painter", if you will. Watching the video was certainly an eye-opener as to how painstaking the entire process was. Wow, just, wow.

What's remarkable is that half way through around 2:00 minute mark it already looked "finished" to my eye and then there is a ton more work to even simulate the light bouncing off his skin. Amazing attention to detail.

You noticed that too? :) Kind of lowers Thomas Kinkade's great efforts to a whole other level. This places this artists efforts into a completely different arena.
