I saw this yesterday as the buzz was that Reece Witherspoon's performance was worthy of Academy Nomination for best Actress. This film is yet another biopic, the story of Cheryl Strayed and her 1100 mile solo hike along the Pacific Crest Trail to try to reconcile her life after her mother dies as well as a bad heroin habit, a failed marriage and infidelity.

The film at 2 hours seemed like twice the length and all I can say is meh. Yes a good portrayal by Reece Witherspoon but not convinced it to be sufficient to garner the Oscar.

Definitely a chick flick showing strength, stamina and perseverance of this woman.

I saw her interview on 60 Minutes. The clips they showed were indeed meh .

Wow, somewhat surprising. Did you like Into the Wild or 127 Hours? I'm not sure if they are similar or not.
