I had a very good[Pioneer] deck from way back in the late eighties,but let it go when one of the doors wouldn't open shoulda had it fixed.

I regret selling my mint Technics RS-BX828 3-head cassette deck about 10 years ago for pennies before the cassette revival. At the very least, had I kept it & sold it today I could have asked a lot more money for it considering the very low hours on the heads. C'est la vie. In the future I might look around for a Nakamichi 1000ZXL Limited Edition in good shape & send it to Willy Hermann for a thrice over.

I struggle to believe that elapsed time and Hi fi progress are synonymous. Having heard a number of components i used to have in my existing system I regret selling

I should have never sold my Nakamichi 682ZX - I find it the most beautiful of all Naks, far more than my Dragon (pictures are not mine, but they do it justice)

That is a very nice looking deck. To add insult to injury, when I sold my Technics deck I threw in a pack of 6 new/sealed Thats MR-X90 Pro cassettes which I could have sold for almost $250AUD today. Live and learn.

I like it too. In the Technics line, I really adored the top offering, the M95. Bought one from ebay a few years ago and what I got had nothing to do with the description, and had to return it. But it was just stunning ; stock picture:
Arnie Nudell built the first really good speaker I could afford, the Infinity Beta I paid $10K for in 1989. J. Gordon Holt loved them paired with VTL 300's which I also bought. Of course I didn't have a room large enough to do them justice, and finally sold them in 1993. That was the first speaker that really got my attention. I wonder how well they would compare today - likely not well.
If I look back through my rose tinted spectacles, I would have to include the Mark Levinson MKII monoblocks, the Vendetta Research Phonostage, Cello Palette and The audionote Japan/kondo M7 Silver sounds phono.
If I then look through my Zeiss Binoculars I would realise that after 30 or 40 years that they would all require some servicing and replacement parts which are probably no longer available and no one around who could do the job. Oh yes and i may be disappointed by the experience!

This MC240 was a labor of love, that I totally rebuilt, and should have never sold. Especially when I sold it for a nice price to its "forever" home. I later learned they turned around and sold it for a hefty profit.
