Congratulations! My neck suffered until I imported the picture and rotated it, but it looks awesome. Do you know what is the mass of the platter? I was very impressed when I found that it has both vertical and horizontal air bearings!

Just found this article with plenty of technical information and diagrams of the inside secrets! https://www.monoandstereo.com/2016/02/interview-with-enrico-datti-from-vyger.html I was astonished to find that this turntable was manufactured in Italy! BTW, the interview with Enrico Datti is really worth reading.

Hi Francisco,

I am not sure of the platter mass but would think 25kg but that is a guess. Yes the vertical and horizontal air bearing system is very cool - these designers left no stone unturned in the madness imho. You know it has vacuum suck down also?

Yes it is so cool that Vyger are an Italian outfit. My amp is the Mastersound Ref 845 so I am amassing Italian gear haha.

Yeah I read that review - was very interesting indeed. I believe the team at Vyger just went out there and tried to build the best - they have gone bonkers with the attention to detail here. I feel very proud and lucky to own this monster.

Now you’ve gone and done it.
Ked will spend the next few decades chasing down Vyger owners, and compare and compare with/without the Mook clamp. And inform you that you’re wrong.

Bill, how are you going to convince your kids this thing is not a fairground ride?
It’s got a kind of Steampunk vibe going on.

Rufus said that a spaceship was in my hifi room lol.

It also looks like an alcohol distillery - will post evidence...

I’m desperately trying to convince myself that my lovely slate plinth/Al platter/magnetic bearing/rim drive/linear air arm analog rig is as good as your new behemoth.

I’m not succeeding.

How do you post a photo that doesn’t default to sideways?

Bill, the q is not so much how to post a photo correctly.
It’s how the heck you put this baby together the right way.
I can’t even handle Ikea.

The folks at Vyger make it pretty bomb proof by numbering and colour coding all the tubes. The arm was pretty easy actually - I was really surprised. That said, you do clearly need to take your time. It comes in 5 wooden crates total - big old beast.

More photos - mods if you know how to correct orientation I would appreciate it. All my photos default to sideways even when I rotate and save.

Bill, I’m afraid it’s that time. Yes, the time when you tell the masses what goes into this tt, the tech and materials involved, and why you chose it over more visible contenders. And of course tales of rediscovering yr record collection.
And when you’re getting rid of the Mook clamp - sorry Ked, but you know i HAD to ask
