Morning all.
I’ve joined this forum in the hope that someone in amongst you knowledgeable lot will help to establish exactly what I have here.
Obviously it’s a scout but the motor housing looks different to others I’ve seen and it has a separate plinth/base that the TT sits over but not upon ( what’s the point of it ? )
It does have a nice DV Karat 17DX cartridge.
And the cover isn’t standard ?
How or where do I measure the tone arm to establish if it’s a 9,10, or 12 inch ?
I sadly don’t have room to store vinyl so I will be selling this beauty but how would I price it ? That's an older "original" Scout prior to the Prime Scout which has a different shape, and the arm would be the JMW-9 (9 inch). Here's a listing for it showing the last pricing and that it's now discontinued. I've never seen that base and think it may be an after-market product from another company, no idea of its price. Hard to identify the source of the dustcover since there were several similar types offered. Hope this helps!
