Used gear at local dealers - the shelves are full of McIntosh

I went into a local (Metro-Detroit) McIntosh dealer (Almas Hi-Fi Stereo in Royal Oak) recently. Looks like the economy has quite a few consignment pieces on the shelves including McIntosh, Fisher and HH Scott.

Several nice McIntosh pieces also at Overture Audio in Ann Arbor.

If one were ever to do local hunting of vintage equipment, now is a golden time.

The dealers around here are suffering no matter what brands they carry. At least they are not too busy to talk to you. I'll check my camera and see if I remembered to take any photos.

Did you notice any Marantz 9s in good condition George? I love those.

No, even the Fisher and Scott stuff was mostly Solid-State.

Almas had a Mac tuner representing each of the last four decades, and quite a few preamps too.

The tube stuff moves much more quickly in the used market from what I can tell.
