Hi,
sorry to ask such a basic question, but I have little to no experience of audio jacks/plugs. I have a job where I need to connect to existing PA systems to page via a telephone handset. Output from my gear is a 3.5mm TS jack to which I'm going to connect the existing mic input cables from the amplifier. So the question is - because it's just TS, does it matter if the wires are the wrong way around?
Normally I'd just test it for myself, but a) I don't have all the hardware here and b) I have subbed this out to engineers around the country that aren't all the sharpest tools in the box to say the least.
I'm trying to write an installation document for it, and if I can say it doesn't matter which way the wires go then it will simplify the whole thing.
TIA
