This thread inspired me to play my Classic version of HOTH and I have to say this is one LP that I'd rather listen to in the car or a crappy system than my main rig - the recording quality is terrible.

Thanks for that tip, because I would have been interested in HOTH (for obvious reasons). Was there ever a Classic release of In Through the Out Door?

Not sure if there was.

I'm now cleaning a U.S. version of HOTH that I had in my 'to-clean' pile and will compare sonics just for the fun of it.

yes, they released every studio album at 33 and 45.

I prefer the Ludwig version of HOTH album at 33 to the classic records 33..

Well for whatever it's worth, the Classic is better than the US version I have. I wouldn't say night and day though.
