Today, when you use your cell phone or when you experience super-fast wireless Internet access (via something called "long-term evolution" or "LTE" technology), you'll be using an extension of the technology a 20- year-old actress first conceived while sitting at dinner with Hitler. "Frequency hopping" or spread spectrum technology was legitimately invented and patented by one of the most beautiful actresses of all time- Hedy Lamarr.

Check out this fascinating piece (and don't miss the fabulous video embedded in it). Also, check out pictures of Hedy Lamarr, who Louis B Mayer at one time called the most beautiful woman in the world.
