Awesome picture. I have been out in the middle of nowhere and am always amazed at how beautiful the night sky is when there are no lights around for many many miles. I was once on a small boat out 600 miles off the coast of South America and we would just lay down and watch the sky each night. Thinking about seeing an arm of the Milky Way as we did those many nights still gives me the chills. Living anywhere near a city, you just don't appreciate how beautiful the night sky is and how vibrant the stars are. Constellations are clearly visible. It is clear to see why the skies were so important to our ancestors once you get to view the night sky like they did. Sensational!

Agreed, I got to witness that in Arizona, and we sometimes get a good view of it in Cape Cod.
