We watched the movie last weekend. Wonderful acting by Benedict Cumberbatch which drew me into the movie. Although the storyline had a few too many contrivances. Examples: Alan Turing's letter to Churchill resulting in his elevation to leader; the revelation common words and phrases were preventing the "computer" from breaking the german code.

The movie is also full of inaccuracies. Turing role, in this movie, was very much dramatized for Hollywood. Example: little was said about the machines actual Polish roots, nor was the self destruction of Turing's Bombe at the end of the movie realistic; considering by the end of the war, the USA apparently had over 100 working versions in existence. Also, Turing didn't make the hi-ranking war decisions (to keep the bombe a secret to the enemies) this movie implied.

Still, very much enjoyed ...
