I don't know why, but I just really enjoy that raspy voice of his. A few years ago I was holiday shopping at a store in Walnut Creek, just browsing, and for some reason I decided to look around at the other people in the store and I noticed that virtually everyone was bopping, heads and bodies were groovin'. Then I realized it was the music that was playing in the store. Rod Stewart's cover album, Soulbook. A few guest artists appear on the album, including Stevie Wonder, Smokey, and Jennifer Hudson.
He also has put out a series of albums entitled The Great American Songbook. This morning I've been listening to Volume V in the series. Fly Me To The Moon was playing and I had to put everything on hold in my office so I could listen to the song uninterrupted.
Highly recommended stuff.
